Understand the DPC model and be confident in your healthcare.
Direct Primary Care is a practice and payment model where patients/consumers pay their physician or practice directly in the form of periodic payments for a defined set of primary care services.
That's a great question. DPCs are focused on patient wellness. We want you to be healthy so you can enjoy your life, family, job, activities, travel. In fact, if something does come up we want to be accessible enough that you don't have to leave your day-to-day to come into the office unless its truly necessary! If you do need an in person visit, you won't be waiting an hour in a crowded office to see a provider for 5 minutes. You can get the Physician lead care you need and get back to your life.
No, it is not. Both DPC and concierge practices charge a periodic fee. Under the concierge model, this fee only affords you access. Most concierge practices still bill insurance for your visits. With DPC, visits and care needs are included in your membership fee.
