What is Regenerative Medicine?

Regenerative medicine is a multidisciplinary field of healthcare focused on harnessing the body's natural ability to repair, replace, and regenerate damaged tissues. It combines principles of biology, chemistry, engineering, and medicine to develop innovative treatments and therapies that can stimulate the body's own regenerative processes.

Microneedling

  • Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses a device with fine needles to create tiny, controlled injuries in the skin's surface.
  • Stimulates collagen and elastin production, resulting in improved skin texture, reduced fine lines, and a more youthful appearance.
  • Effective for treating acne scars, stretch marks, and various skin imperfections.
  • Requires little to no downtime, making it a convenient option for busy individuals.
  • Achieve smoother, firmer, and more radiant skin with a series of micro-needling sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

It's important to consult with our physicians to discuss your specific needs, concerns, and suitability for microneedling before undergoing the procedure.

Microneedling is used to improve a range of skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, enlarged pores, and uneven skin texture. It can also enhance the skin's overall tone and firmness.

During the procedure, a topical numbing cream is typically applied to minimize discomfort. While you may still feel some sensation, most people find micro-needling to be relatively tolerable.

A typical micro-needling session takes around 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the treated area and the depth of the needles used.

The number of sessions needed varies based on individual skin concerns and goals. Many people see improvements after just one session, but a series of 3-4 treatments spaced a few weeks apart is often recommended for optimal results.

After microneedling, there may be some redness and mild swelling, similar to a mild sunburn. This typically subsides within a day. Most people can resume their regular activities with proper post-treatment care.  Makeup can be applied after 24 hours.

Post-treatment care may include avoiding sun exposure, using gentle skincare products, and applying a moisturizer. Your healthcare provider will provide specific instructions tailored to your needs as well as a post treatment skin care regimen to take home.

Common side effects are temporary and mild, including redness, swelling, and pinpoint bleeding at the treatment sites. Serious complications are rare when the procedure is performed by a trained professional.

Microneedling is generally safe for most skin types and can benefit individuals with various skin concerns. However, it may not be suitable for those with active skin infections, certain medical conditions, or certain skin sensitivities.

Microneedling results are long-lasting, but maintenance treatments are often recommended to sustain and enhance the benefits. The duration of results can vary based on individual factors and the specific skin condition being addressed. For best results 3-4 sessions are recommended.

Yes, microneedling can be combined with other cosmetic treatments such as PRP therapy or topical serums to enhance results.
